| UpBeat placed 4th in the Sweet Adelines regional contest in Birmingham in May 2007, placing 3rd the previous year. UpBeat placed Lead Deborah and Baritone Kate have sung together in various quartets for over 10 years. They were joined by Bass Liz (mother of Bass Ellie from Luminous) in early 2002 and recruited tenor Angela in January 2003 (just 2 days before she gave birth). Breakthrough - This young and vibrant quartet placed 6th at the regional contest in May 2007. Lead, Emily Penny sings with Lace City Singers. Veryan, Sian hail from Cornwall and have recently moved to Nottingham to join Lace City Singers. Baritone Sarah has retired from Breakthrough due to motherhood and has been replaced by Lace City Singer (and lead of retired Topaz Quartet) Emily Atherton. |

Storm may be a newly formed quartet, but its members are no strangers to barbershop. Alyson Chaney, Michelle Walker and Laura Ritchie are all former members of 4 times regional champion quartet Soundbites, whilst Mel Cook has sung in various quartet line-ups, including the Young Women in Harmony Quartet Pure Innocence.
